Navgraha Puja — Gangasagar

Navgraha Puja at Gangasagar is worship of all nine grahas, the planets of Vedic astrology, by a local priest on Sagar Island, West Bengal. It is performed at a ghat or ritual venue, and the exact venue is confirmed with you. Your household is named in the sankalp, with your name and gotra.

What is Navgraha Puja?

The Navgraha are the nine grahas of Vedic astrology: Surya, Chandra, Mangal, Budh, Guru, Shukra, Shani, Rahu and Ketu. A Navgraha shanti puja invokes all nine with their mantras, usually with navdhanya, nine kinds of grain. In this booking a local priest at Gangasagar performs the puja for all nine grahas. The sankalp is made for your household, and the venue is a ghat or ritual venue confirmed with you.

Why devotees book it

• A traditional remedy when an astrologer finds several grahas weak or afflicted in the kundli
• Seeking balance and peace at the start of a new planetary dasha
• General well-being for the household before an important beginning
• Prayer for steadiness when many areas of life feel out of balance

When to book

A Navgraha puja is traditionally offered at a change of planetary dasha or at the time of an eclipse. It is also offered before a new venture, griha pravesh or wedding. A muhurat chosen by the priest also works well, and our team confirms the date with you on WhatsApp.

About Gangasagar

On Sagar Island in South 24 Parganas, West Bengal, the Ganga meets the Bay of Bengal at the sacred tirtha of Gangasagar. Pilgrims bathe at this confluence and pray at the Kapil Muni temple close by. Many devotees feel that prayers for planetary peace offered at such a tirtha carry added sanctity. This Navgraha puja is performed at a ghat or ritual venue there, not inside the Kapil Muni temple.
