About this puja
This Chandra Mantra Jaap and Milk Abhishek at Someshwar Mahadev, Prayagraj, is offered for a couple. A local priest at Arail chants the Chandra mool mantra 11,000 times and performs a milk abhishek of Bhagwan Shiv. The sankalp takes the couple's two names with gotra.
What is Chandra Mantra Jaap & Milk Abhishek for a Couple?
Chandra, the Moon, is one of the Navgraha, the nine planets of Vedic astrology. A single-planet shanti focuses on that planet, here through the jaap of Chandra's mool mantra, or root mantra. This booking pairs 11,000 chants with a milk abhishek of Bhagwan Shiv, the ritual bathing of the Shivling. A local priest performs both at a ritual venue near Someshwar Mahadev, with a sankalp for a couple of up to two names.
Why devotees book it
- A traditional remedy when an astrologer finds Chandra weak or afflicted in a kundli
- Blessings for harmony at home and in marriage, sought together as a couple
- Peace of mind and calm for both partners, through devotion to Mahadev
- Balance at the start of a Chandra dasha, or when a new chapter begins
When to book
Mondays, or Somvar, are a natural choice for both Chandra and Shiv. Shravan, Pradosh and a wedding anniversary are also popular, as is the start of a Chandra dasha. Your date is chosen together with our team on WhatsApp.
